Arc Raiders has targeted yet another duplication exploit just a couple of days after celebrating a drop in suspicious player accounts

The first hotfix since Arc Raiders’ 1.36 update has rocked up, and while it may be small it does tackle some important issues, namely a new duplication exploit which has popped up recently and saw mountains of explosives spawn even faster than the throwables glitch.

“We have just pushed a hotfix on all platforms to mitigate a duplication issue, an official blog post explains. “As we stated before regarding the use of exploits, we will continue issuing bans on accounts that have been gaining significant advantage.”

All’s well that ends well, right? If only it could be so easy. Like most things that happen on the internet, this hasn’t satiated all players, as some question why Embark can fix this glitch but not one that is seen to be considerably worse.

“This hotfix proves embark can respond overnight, so why is weapon duping still here?” player Loose_Fish5725 asks. “A dupe that literally anyone could abuse gets discovered, spreads like wildfire, and gets patched in less than 24 hours. Meanwhile, we’ve had duplicated Bobcats and weapons circulating for weeks. Entire kits are being duplicated, sold, and recycled, destroying the economy, yet that’s somehow a lower priority?”

The weapon dupe glitch in question is like many others but the issue is with it flooding Arc Raiders lobbies with ‘fake’ weapons and ruining the economy as rare weapons become pretty common. If you’ve seen players with hordes of Bobcats on your travels that’d be why.

“The speed of this fix proves the developers can react quickly when they choose to,” the player continues. “That’s why it’s frustrating watching the in-game economy continue to suffer while the most impactful exploit remains unresolved.”

The reality of the situation, though, is likely quite simple. Embark was probably able to fix the new duplication glitch because it was new and came from the most recent patch. Older duplication glitches are harder to deal with simply because it’s been around for longer and is relentless in how it just keeps popping up.

It’s also easy to ban accounts with ridiculous stack value, but it’s harder to correct the internal economy when much of the duplicated gear has been spread across accounts that found items fair and square during matches and not by duplicating them. That’s all to say that Embark will likely be fighting duplication glitches for the rest of the game’s lifecycle, the important thing is to try and stay on top of it.
