Learn how to get past the Museum Crash in Coral Island!
Stairway Games’ Coral Island has been getting a lot of positive buzz ever since it launched, and many fans have been enjoying this very intricate farm simulator. Not only do they get to plant crops and harvest all kinds of fruits and vegetables, but they can also roam around the island, doing activities like mining and scuba diving; they can also form relationships with several of the attractive NPCs in the game.
Like every new game released nowadays, though, some Coral Island players have found some bugs that need fixing, and they can get as severe as having the game crash multiple times on a player.
Luckily, there are some fixes that players can do to get around the bugs and continue building their Coral Island utopias.
The Museum Crash Coral Island Bug
Though there are multiple points in the game where players have reported bugs, this Museum crash bug has become prominent for many players, and some have reported up to 4 crashes with multiple attempts.
In the game, the Museum is located to the left of the Community Center, and players can choose to donate all kinds of items to it, including artifacts, gems, insects, and fish they find on their adventures.
Donating to the Museum will help increase the rank of the town, and that’s the main incentive for the players to do that.
The problem is that multiple players have reported that they would donate to the Museum, which would result in the game crashing, and they would lose all their progress since the last saved game.
Has the Bug Been Addressed?
The good news for Coral Island players is that the developers know the Museum bug and have addressed it with a patch. One developer post on Reddit says:
“Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your patience during this process. I’m happy to share that we have fixed the museum crash and will be included in our future releases! The timing may vary depending on the platform, stay tuned for the update!“
Looking at the post, though, you’ll notice that many players still report that they are still experiencing the bug on Xbox days after it was said to have been fixed. Even if that is the case, there are some workarounds that other players have suggested online that could save you from a game crash.
What Other Fixes Can You Do?
Despite Stairway Games saying they’ve already addressed the crash, some players are still reporting on it—specifically on the Xbox Series X|S. Some recommended fixes for this problem include:
Updating to the Latest Version of Coral Island – Sometimes, players can experience the bug because they haven’t been able to update their version to the one that contains the fix. Usually, updates will be automatically prompted by the game, but if that isn’t the case, you can go to Profile, then Options, and from that point, you should see an option that will allow you to Upgrade the game to its latest version.
Check if the Console Itself Isn’t Faulty – Sometimes the problem isn’t the game itself, but the actual console. With Coral Island being such a huge game, some platforms won’t be able to manage it; make sure that your console has all the minimum specs required to run Coral Island. If you’ve already checked that, troubleshoot your device and make sure everything is upgraded to the latest version.
Reinstall the Game – If all else fails, a fix that is always suggested is uninstalling and reinstalling the game on your console. Sure, the method is tedious, but at least this way, you can address all of the problems you can’t detect and have a fresh start with the game. Of course, there is also an option to keep your save files, so back those up before a complete uninstall/reinstall.
