Apex Legends Is Getting a Cyberpunk Event, and It Comes With a Dangerous Twist

Apex Legends is heading straight into Night City with its Cyberpunk crossover, and this one is more than a simple skin drop. Respawn is adding themed cosmetics, a neon E-District takeover, Cyberware mods, Skippy as a Mythic Alternator, and a new risk-reward mechanic that can turn players into a cyberpsycho if they push their implants too far.

The official Apex Legends blog confirms that the Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Event runs from July 14 to August 4, 2026. The separate Cyberpunk Collection stays in the store a little longer, running from July 14 to August 18.

Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Event Release Date

The crossover begins on July 14, 2026, bringing Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners content into Apex Legends for a limited-time event.

The main event ends on August 4, 2026, so players who want to experience the Wildcard changes, earn event rewards, and mess around with the new Cyberware systems should not leave it too late. The Cyberpunk Collection remains available until August 18, 2026, giving players extra time to grab cosmetics from the store.

Which Legends Are Getting Cyberpunk Skins?

The event includes eight Legend skins inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The confirmed Legends getting Cyberpunk looks are Axle, Sparrow, Lifeline, Crypto, Rampart, Loba, Ash, and Gibraltar.

Several pairings have already been shown through official event materials. Sparrow gets a David-inspired skin, Axle gets Lucy, Rampart gets Rebecca, Loba gets Panam, Ash gets Lizzy Wizzy, and Gibraltar gets Royce. Lifeline and Crypto are also part of the collection, with Cyberpunk-styled skins tied into the overall crossover lineup.

Cyberpunk Weapon Skins And The Mythic Skippy Alternator

The event also adds eight themed weapon skins for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber.

The headline weapon is the Mythic Skippy Alternator. Cyberpunk 2077 players will remember Skippy as the talking smart pistol with a personality problem. In Apex Legends, Skippy returns as a Mythic Alternator with reactive visuals, voice lines, and two familiar modes: Puppy Loving Pacifist and Stone Cold Killer.

Players can upgrade Skippy with Exotic Shards to unlock additional visuals, ordnance skins, and knock effects. In other words, it is not just a weapon skin. It is the event’s loudest collectible, probably in every sense of the word.

Cyberware Mods Are Coming To Wildcard

The gameplay twist comes through two Cyberware mods available in Wildcard. These are not being pushed into regular ranked play, so the chaos is being kept inside the event-focused mode.

Sandevistan is the speed option. It gives players quick dashes in any direction and can recharge shields, making it useful for fast pushes, sudden escapes, or repositioning before a fight gets ugly.

Blackwall Breach is the trickier option. It lets players phase into the Net to reposition, then return with an EMP blast that cracks enemy shields and tracks their location.

The simple version is this: Sandevistan is for movement, Blackwall Breach is for disruption. Both sound powerful, but Apex is adding a catch.

How Cyberpsychosis Works In Apex Legends

Every Cyberware use increases your Cyberware Capacity. Push that meter too far, and your Legend goes full cyberpsycho.

That does not mean a tiny debuff or a harmless warning icon. Cyberpsychosis completely changes how you play. Once it kicks in, you lose access to weapons, abilities, shields, and ordnance. In exchange, you become a fast-moving melee threat with heavy close-range damage.

It is a funny idea until it happens in the middle of a fight. Suddenly, your high-tech build becomes a sprinting problem with no guns. Very Cyberpunk. Very Apex.

Players can manage the meter with Immunoblocker Syringes found around the map, while Immunoblocker Caches can wipe the meter clean. If you are leaning hard into Cyberware, these items are going to matter.

E-District Is Getting A Night City Makeover

The event also transforms E-District into Night City E-District. The map keeps its basic structure, but the visuals are getting drenched in Cyberpunk style.

Expect neon skyboxes, corporate billboards, holographic koi, and glitchy signage across the map. The result should make Wildcard feel much closer to Cyberpunk 2077 without replacing the core Apex map underneath.

Rewards, Eddies, And Nessie Plushies

The event includes a Reward Shop where players can spend Eddies earned during play. Confirmed rewards include an Arasaka Flight Protocol Epic Valkyrie skin and a Kang-Tao Specter Epic Mirage skin.

There is also a real-world collectible drop. Apex Legends is partnering with Youtooz on two limited-edition Nessie plushies inspired by Lucy and Rebecca. Preorders run from July 15 to August 18.

Patch Notes And Smaller Updates

The crossover is arriving alongside several smaller updates. Respawn says Wildcard map rotations are changing to 90 minutes after community feedback. Bot Royale Evolved lobbies are also being reduced to one player squad to improve queue times and reduce uneven matchmaking.

The team is also continuing work on FPS drops affecting specific CPUs. Players can follow broader issue tracking through the public Apex Legends Trello board.

What Players Should Know Before The Event Starts

The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk crossover has a lot packed into it. The main event runs from July 14 to August 4, while the Cyberpunk Collection sticks around until August 18.

The biggest gameplay change is Cyberware in Wildcard, especially the Cyberpsychosis system. Use the new mods carefully, watch your meter, and grab Immunoblockers before your build turns into a very fast mistake.

Between Skippy, Night City E-District, Cyberpunk skins, event rewards, and limited-edition plushies, this is one of Apex Legends’ flashier crossovers. It is also one of the rare events where getting too powerful might be exactly how you get yourself into trouble.
