A Persona 6 announcement may be incoming

It’s far from a sure thing, but there are reasons to believe that we’ll see a Persona 6 announcement in the near future.

Recently, images purported to show the rumored game’s main characters and the RPG’s logo appeared on social media. Anyone can draw a few anime characters (or generate them with AI), take slightly-tilted off-screen photos of them, and say that the new Persona has leaked, but things get more interesting when those images start disappearing over copyright complaints.

One person who shared an image of a supposed Persona 6 logo on X has said that they were hit with a DMCA notice over it, and the image was taken down. They claimed a YouTube channel sharing the images also took down a video.

It’s not solid proof that the images come from a genuine leak, but the idea that Sega and Atlus may be on the verge of announcing Persona 6 is hardly the wildest thing I can imagine.

The PC Gaming Show returns Sunday, June 7 at 12 pm PDT! Visit the show’s Steam page to wishlist your most anticipated games and get more information on how to tune in for the big reveals.

We are, for one thing, in announcement season: The Summer Game Fest stream is tomorrow, and the Xbox Games Showcase is on Sunday.

Persona 5 came out a full decade ago, in 2016. It was re-released as Persona 5 Royal in the early 2020s, and there have been a bunch of spin-off games featuring its characters since: Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5 Tactica, and Persona 5: The Phantom X.

It seems about time to throw a “6” into the mix, if you ask me, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. I’ve asked Sega for comment.
