How to get lead in Subnautica 2

Looking for lead in Subnautica 2 is a tad trickier than finding titanium. Though it’s not quite as involved as gathering gold, this metal is still relatively hard to find, and I’ve only discovered it in one particular area in the game’s starting regions. It’s not used to craft much apart from the Sonic Resonator, but this tool is massively important.

Not only is it vital for mining big metal and mineral blocks, but it’s also used to clear Angel Combs so you can earn new adaptations for surviving in this alien sea. So, here’s where to find lead so you can rustle one up.

Subnautica 2 lead location

You can find lead in a ravine about 280 meters northeast of the Lifepod. To get here, follow the video above, or:

Head northeast from the Lifepod (bearing about 75°) until you spot a blue natural current moving below you.Swim into it and you’ll be propelled down into a ravine—stop when you spot the colony platform construction on the left with the Tadpole fragment nearby.You’ll spot some big block lead deposits here, but if you swim further north or east down either side of the ravine, you’ll find little bits of lead in the sand you can pick up or smaller blocks to break.

Lead isn’t required for much early on apart from crafting the Sonic Resonator and any germanium ingots you want to produce in the Processor, though you can make these with silver instead.

Still, I recommend filling your gills and stowing that spare lead away in your base, just so you don’t have to come back to this spot again anytime soon. Once you advance to the next area of the game near the Alien Ruins, there’s tonnes of lead about, so it’s much easier to find.
