We are pleased to announce the production release of JetPack 7.2.1. JetPack 7.2.1 is the next release in the JetPack 7 series, and brings the support for NVIDIA Jetson T3000 emulation and Agent Skills to build Video Pipelines. With JetPack 7 series, Jetson software aligns with the Server Base System Architecture (SBSA), positioning Jetson Thor alongside industry-standard ARM server design. JetPack 7.1 packages Jetson Linux 38.4 with Linux Kernel 6.8 and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS based root file system.

Support for Jetson T3000 emulation

Agent skills for video pipelines

ISO now flashes the Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit with Super Mode flashing configuration by default.

Support for PCN211461 and PCN211462.

Fixes for known issues and security vulnerabilities.

You can install JetPack 7.2.1 on your Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit with any of the methods below

ISO Image: You can download the JetPack 7.2.1 ISO image from JetPack 7.2.1 Downloads and Notes page and use Balena Etcher to prepare the installer USB drive. Please follow the instructions in the User Guide on flashing the Developer Kit with JetPack 7.2.1.

SDK Manager: You can do a fresh install of JetPack 7.2.1 using SDK Manager.

Manual Flashing: If you prefer to install using the command line, you can flash Jetson device from a linux host by following steps here.

Once Jetson Linux is flashed, you can install the compute stack using:

SDK Manager (using linux host) or

By running “sudo apt update” followed by “sudo apt install nvidia-jetpack” on the Jetson developer kit

Jetson T3000 emulation on Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit

Jetson T3000 module can be emulated on the Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit using the manual flashing method with the flashing configuration file ‘p3834-0008-as-p5767-0000-nvme’. Follow the steps for manual flashing here and emulation flashing configuration here.

Use the following command during manual flashing to select the right configuration file for T3000 emulation

$ sudo ./l4t_initrd_flash.sh p3834-0008-as-p5767-0000-nvme internal

Important Notes:

There will be no SD card image for Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit starting JetPack 7 branch. Use the unified ISO image to flash the developer kit using a USB stick.

The manual flashing instructions have slightly changed because of Thor leveraging SBSA architecture. Please follow the manual flashing instructions carefully.

MIG support on Jetson Thor T5000 remains a technology preview feature.

NVIDIA’s validated contribution to the OE4T project for JetPack 7.2.1 will be available on OE4T by 8/25/2026. Post NVIDIA’s contribution the project will go through its course of community contributions and merges back to master and LTS.
