Dead or Alive 6 Last Round launches on PS5 June 25, new game also in development

For the past few years, one of the most asked questions we get at Team Ninja has been: “What’s going on with Dead or Alive?” I’m excited to finally give fans some answers as the franchise is very much alive and kicking! This year marks the 30-year anniversary of the 3D fighter, so it’s only fitting that we celebrate with a few announcements.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round features 29 playable characters (24 from the original release, and 5 additional DLC fighters from DOA6!), with characters like Kasumi, Marie Rose and others receiving a total of 5 costumes.

The game has also been optimized and updated to run on the latest hardware, and a new photo mode has also been included for fans to capture every angle of their favorite fighters in action.

The free to play version is scheduled to release simultaneously and fans will be able to jump immediately into battle as it includes four popular characters: Kasumi, NiCO, Marie Rose, and Honoka. In addition to being able to play against others anywhere in the world, including those with the full version of the game, also playable in this version are the online modes DOA Quest and DOA Central, and the new photo mode!

This enables everyone to try out the game for free, so whether you’re a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer to fighting games, we invite everyone to give Dead or Alive 6 Last Round a try.

In addition, further updates, new costumes, and new characters are scheduled to be released post launch. More details to be announced at a later date.

But that’s not all. I know I said I had a few announcements, and I saved the best for last. I can finally reveal that Team Ninja has been hard at work on the development of the latest Dead or Alive title! More news on that to come, but until then, time to get back in the fighting spirit and get your skills up in time for the latest tournament. Dead or Alive 6 might be getting ready to face its Last Round, but the franchise is storming back better than ever in the near future!
