Fortnite Update Adding Fan-Requested Game Mode – Reload Solos (2024)

Epic Games is bringing Reload Solos to Fortnite, and here’s everything you should know about the fan-requested game mode!

Fortnite: Reload has been a fan-favorite game mode since its launch a couple of seasons ago. It offers fast-paced action and a fresh take on the Battle Royale mode.

Fortnite Reload requires teaming up with other players, allowing reboots as long as one teammate remains in action. However, Epic Games is introducing a new mode called Reload Solos, launching in a few days. For those who enjoy Reload mode and want to try it 1v1, here’s everything we know about the update so far.

Fortnite’s official X (Twitter) account recently announced the addition of Reload Solos on November 2, 2024. This mode joins the current Reload Duos and Squads, giving each player the option to jump into this respawn-based mode on their own.

Since Reload usually relies on teammates to keep you in the game, the question is, how will respawning work in Solos?

According to FNBRintel, a known Fortnite leaker, Solo players will have two automatic reboots per match, effectively giving each player 3 lives—the one they start with plus two extra reboots.

Similar to previous Reload versions, reboot lives will reportedly be disabled toward the end of each match. Instead, they’ll be converted into Overshield for players who still have it

Conclusion

While these gameplay mechanics are unconfirmed until the update, players are already excited about the news. Along with the new Reload Solos mode, this update brings Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix, featuring popular content from past seasons and setting up for Chapter 6 later this year.

We’re also expecting map shuffling in Reload, though no date has been announced. Keep checking our blog to stay up-to-date on any new developments.
