Collect Empty Fuel Can

The Empty Fuel Can in Silent Hill 2 Remake is found in the 0.10 Boiler Room of the basement. It’s easily spotted behind a huge green tank at the southwest corner of the room.
Fill up the Fuel Can

After retrieving the Empty Fuel Can, you’ll need to fill it with fuel, but first, you must find the Fuel Tank in the Storage. Do the following to access the room:
Enter the ‘0.5 Laundry Storage.’
Look for the wheeled laundry basket.
Roll the wheeled laundry basket down to ‘0.8 Laundry Room.’
Place the wheeled laundry basket south of the ‘0.8 Laundry Room.’
Climb up the wheeled laundry and go through the gap to enter ‘0.9 Storage.’
Examine the Fuel Tank at the southwest corner of the room and fill up your Empty Fuel Can.
To leave the room, open the bolted door at the northeast of the room.
Start the Basement Generator

Once the fuel can is filled, return to the Generator Room and examine the generator. This will trigger a prompt to refuel it. Once fueled, flip the red switch to activate the generator and power the hospital elevator. Before you proceed to the upper floors using the hospital elevator, save your game to avoid losing any progress.
