Some players have difficulty starting the Feral Hunter Quest, but it shouldn’t be too hard to find in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
James Cameron’s Avatar came back hugely when Avatar: The Way of Water hit theaters, and while the next film is still a long wait away, Ubisoft has given players another jump into the world of Pandora with the recently released Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
The game takes place shortly after the events of the first Avatar movie, after Jake Sully successfully kicks out the humans from Pandora. In Frontiers, players will replace some local Na’vi whom humans have raised, so they don’t have any of the training or traditions from the native tribes.
Essentially, the game will have you going against the humans and rediscovering your character’s native Na’vi roots. Just like Jake Sully, not only will you be learning the ways of the Sky People, but you’ll also have your intimate knowledge of the humans and their technology to help in the fight to reclaim the planet.
The Feral Hunter Quest
One of the side quests in the game that has been stumping some players is called the Feral Hunter Quest, and it involves the player looking for several of these Feral Thanators that have been experimented on by the humans and are roaming the map.
With each Thanator comes a special code that you will have to collect, and it looks like there will be three that you will have to look out for throughout the game. The Feral Hunter mission’s official description reads:
Dangerous feral thanators are roaming about with mysterious encrypted codes in their bellies. All three animals escaped a sinister RDA facility years ago, where cruel experiments were performed on them.
It’s not outright said what the purpose of the code in the thanator’s stomaches is, but it will be up to you to discover the mystery behind them and what the RDA was planning with these experimental creatures.
Where to Start the Feral Hunter Quest
The quest starts when you find a thanator with the data in their stomaches, but players recommend starting the mission by finding Research Station Alpha. It’s an abandoned research station located southwest of the Cradling Pines at The Cut.
You should be able to get inside the facility via a vent; it’s said that your character will say something should you be near the area. You’ll find it around some dead bodies.
The deeper you go inside the area, the more puzzles you’ll have to solve that have something to do with power sources and opening doors. You’ll eventually find yourself inside a room full of cages, which will trigger some dialogue about the RDA experimenting on animals.
A feral thanator will eventually show up and try to attack you. When you kill it, you’ll be able to see that it has some encrypted data in its stomach, and this will kick off the Feral Hunter Quest, which will have you searching for the rest of the escaped thanators.
Finding the Rest of the Thanators
The complicated part about the quest is that it’s pretty hard to find the thanators from all across the map—however, the game hints at where to search for them.
Right after you get the thanator at Research Station Alpha, you’ll get hints at where to find thanators Beta and Charlie. Some dialogue will point you toward Stoneblade Ridge. The last one should be around the Kinglor Forest.
The game doesn’t point out the exact locations, but if you hunt for thanators around those areas, you should be able to run into the ones connected to the quest.
If you complete finding the thanators, you will be instructed to return to Research Station Alpha and decipher all the code there.
